2009 Accomplishments

  • Volunteer Park Field 1 - Rennovation.
  • 50 yr lease for Maple Hollow and 360 Parks with the Washington State Dept. of Natural Resources.
  • Volunteer Park Master Plan( I may  need to add a link to the completed document in the near future)

 

 

2008 Accomplishments

  • Developed first neighborhood park in Home.
  • Successfully prepared applications with Trust for Public Land for Pierce County Conservation Futures ($900,000) and State of Washington Recreation Conservation Office Salmon Recovery Funding Board ($500,000) to purchase 39 acres on Taylor Bay in the amount of $1.4 million.
  • Successfully prepared application with Key Peninsula Little League for State of Washington Recreation Conservation Office Youth Athletic Facility Grant in the amount of $75,000.
  • Coordinated "Parks Appreciation Day" for Purdy Spit, Rocky Creek, Home Park , Volunteer Park , & Key Peninsula Civic Center in which volunteers donated over 290 hours of labor valued at over $5000.
  • Developed park logo and redesigned website: www.keypenparks.com.
  • Purchase of Minter Creek area land in-progress.

 

2007 Accomplishments  

  • Lobbied State Legislature for Department of Natural Resources funding for ( 360/Horseshoe Lake and Maple Hollow properties)
  • Completed Needs assessment survey for Park Comprehensive Plan. Plan to be adopted later this year
  • Coordinated the back stop renovation of Field # 2 at Volunteer Park
  • Coordinated "Parks Appreciation Day" for Purdy Spit, Rocky Creek, Home Park , Volunteer Park , & Key Peninsula Civic Center in which volunteers donated over 290 hours of labor valued at over $5000  

 

2006 Accomplishments

  • Completed renovation and successful operation of Concession Stand at Volunteer Park $30,000
  • Renovation of three infield at Volunteer Park $7000
  • Coordinated the construction of retaining wall at Volunteer Park by Key Peninsula Lion Club members with in excess of 180 volunteer hours. $5000
  • Conceptual master plan of 360 ( Horseshoe Lake ) property $4975
