VolunteerThe Key Pen Parks Volunteer Program is designed to promote the spirit of partnership that Key Pen Parks encourages and enjoys with the citizens and local businesses on the Key Peninsula.
The mission of the our volunteer program is to increase the interaction between the park, the citizens and local businesses for a two-fold purpose. The first is to help Key Pen Parks enhance its existing service offerings and/or expand them through the use of volunteer expertise. The second is to bring every population of the community together to achieve a stronger, more connected community. If you are interested in getting involved by volunteering or promoting a volunteer opportunity, please contact the Key Pen Parks office. If you would like to volunteer on an ongoing basis (teaching a class, adopting a park, etc.), please fill out a volunteer application. Volunteers for special events do not need to fill out an application. Teach a Class, Hold a Camp, Run an ActivityDo you have a special talent or interest that you can share with others? Are you looking for a fun way to give back to our wonderful community?
Key Pen Parks is always looking for individuals or groups who would like to be involved with our recreation program by running one or more classes, workshops, camps or activities for youth or adults. While our main focus is on outdoor active and passive recreation in one of our parks or properties, we do have some indoor space which can also be used for other activities, like art classes. Our goal is to provide affordable activities that serve broad interests in the local population. In some cases, teachers are paid a small stipend if Key Pen Parks collects registration/participation fees. Contact the Key Pen Parks Recreation Department to discuss your ideas on how you'd like to get involved. |
Adopt-a-Park ProgramThank you for taking an interest in Key Pen Parks' Adopt-a-Park Program. This program is designed to promote community involvement in our parks. We are encouraging volunteer groups and individuals to help with the park they adopt at least four times a year to pick up any garbage and debris and help maintain a safe environment for our citizens. You act as caring eyes for Key Pen Parks as we ask you to report any conditions you find that need attention. Garbage bags are provided to anyone who is an Adopt-a-Park participant.
If you or your organization is interested in adopting a park, please fill out an Adopt-a-Park application and mail it to the address on the application. The following parks still need to be adopted:
Key Pen Parks is extremely grateful to our current Adopt-a-Park groups:
