Volunteer Park

This 20-acre park, which is known as "the park" by many locals, is the site for many tournaments, community events, and other activities throughout each year. The Key Pen Parks office is also located at Volunteer Park.

Volunteer Park is available for event rentals. Contact the park office with your questions. 
Best Wi-Fi access is from the parking lot closest to the buildings. Please connect to KeyPenn Parks Guest -- no password is needed! Any member of the public can use the Wi-Fi during park hours. This free public Wi-Fi was funded through the Pierce County Connected grant from the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation.

Skate Park Rules

  • The skate park is open from 8 am to sunset.
  • Skate at your own risk, this park is not supervised.
  • Safety helmet and equipment should be worn at all times.
  • Skating against traffic is not permitted.
  • Ramps must be clear of other skaters before you proceed.
  • Bicycles of any kind are not permitted.
  • Spectators are to stay off skating areas at all times.
  • Alcohol, smoking, drugs, or glass containers are not allowed.
  • Profanity, loud music, bad behavior, or recklessness is not allowed.
The skateboarding facility is used by experienced and inexperienced skaters. Serious injury may result from being hit by a skateboard, falling, or colliding.
